What’s in a name? If you look up the word “viewpoint” in a thesaurus you’ll be amazed at all the main entries there are. Here’s a sample: way of thinking, angle, direction, idea, light, opinion, outlook, perception, perspective, philosophy, slant, stance, understanding and vantage point. For all these entries there are hundreds of synonyms depending on your exact usage of the word. The word “viewpoint” was chosen as the company name because of the diverse meanings and because viewpoints influence decisions. We take in the external viewpoints from the world at large, society, culture, politics, religion, the media, work industry, specific job title, family and friends. Our internal viewpoints are what we think of ourselves in relation to all that. So many influences and so many decisions based on them. Sorting through all those viewpoints and choosing the ones that empower and support you in having fulfilling work is what you can achieve with career coaching. |
